Hennessy Master Blender’s Selection No. 3 Cognac

SFZBQcoAMaster Blender’s Selection No. 3

  • Master Blender’s Selection No. 3 marks the very first creation from Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, Hennessy’s 8th generation Master Blender
  • Bottled at 43% ABV (vs. standard 40%) & comprised of 20 rare eaux-de-vie, Master Blender’s Selection No. 3 is a single batch Cognac that will never again be replicated
  • On the palate, the blend evokes the mastery of a well-made praline, with an unmistakable presence of aromas such as soft textured French pastries
  • Exclusively available in the U.S. starting October 1, the third in the series will be available at fine retailers nationwide for a SRP of $110

Master Blender’s Selection No. 3 is a pure expression of Hennessy’s creativity, craftsmanship, savoir faire and passion

  • Master Blender’s Selection No 3, the third in the Master Blender’s Selection Series, reflects the very first creation of Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, the 8th generation Master Blender and successor to Master Blender Yann Fillioux
  • As the guardian of the exceptional taste and style of Maison Hennessy, this NEW blend embodies Mr. Fillioux de Gironde’s creativity, imagination and predilection for certain eaux-de-vie, which he would like cognac novices and connoisseurs to take pleasure in discovering

Unlike most Hennessy blends, Master Blender’s Selection No.3 is a genuine single batch Cognac, never to be replicated again

  • The eaux-de-vie assembled in this offering are not used in any other Hennessy Cognac

Master Blender’s Selection No. 3 possesses a unique flavor thanks to the eaux-de-vie’s initial contact with young course-grained French oak barrels

  • Composed of eaux-de-vie that are at least 7 years old and aged in young oak barrels before being further aged in older oak barrels, the resulting blend is a golden sheen, light amber hue with aromatic tones that can be perceived as fresh and light, akin to those found in sweet pastries with a distinct flavor of toasted hazelnuts
  • The eaux-de-vie in Master Blender’s Selection No. 3 acquire unique flavors that come together over time in a harmonious, balanced blend best described as elegant and subtle – an experience of smoothness from start to finish
  • Bottled at 43% ABV (vs. standard 40%), the blend delivers an amplification of flavor, nose and balance

Each limited-edition bottle is individually numbered and signed by Master Blender Renaud Fillioux de Gironde and available exclusively in the U.S.

  • May be enjoyed neat, on ice or in a mixed drink
  • On shelves starting October 2018 at fine retailers nationwide (750ml bottles; SRP $110)

For over 200 years, the Fillioux family has been associated with Maison Hennessy as producers or blenders of the eaux-de-vie

  • The Hennessy and Fillioux family lineages have grown together, branch by branch, for 8 successive generations. Over time, the Hennessy family has passed down a business spirit and vision, while the Fillioux family has handed down an expertise in the creation of excellent Cognacs
  • In July 2017, Renaud Fillioux de Gironde became the 8th generation Master Blender as his uncle Yann Fillioux stepped down, after over 50 years of service
  • A 40-year-old Cognac native, Gironde completed a comprehensive journey at Hennessy. Previously the Winegrower Relations Manager, a key position for ensuring raw material supply, he had been groomed for the role of Master Blender by his uncle for more than fifteen years
  • As leader of the prestigious Tasting Committee, Renaud samples and selects the best eaux-de-vie through daily tastings conducted with discipline and discernment
